Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility through commissioning, within the UK water sector. You’ll mentor engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and work with clients and contractors to deliver sustainable, high‑quality solutions across water and wastewater facilities, pumping stations and process systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering detailed mechanical design in the UK water sector.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of mechanical engineering projects across the full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Mentor engineers within the team and contribute to technical governance.
• Ensure designs meet quality, safety and sustainability standards.
