Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the UK to lead mechanical design and piping for process plant projects. The role involves design, calculations and data sheets, with oversight of 3D modelling and site support across multi-discipline teams.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in process industries, CAD/3D modelling, and piping codes, with potential UK-based travel and a leadership track.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in mechanical engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng).
• Chartered Engineer, MIMechE desirable.
• Experience in process plant and piping design.
• Strong knowledge of CAD and 3D modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineer on selected projects, controlling delivery, costs and schedule.
• Design, calculations, specifications and data sheets.
• Supervise piping layout, plant layout and 3D modelling.
• Provide site support during construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate with disciplines and prepare cost estimates.
