Job summary

SA Technologies seeks a technical team leader to develop new mechanical technologies and packaging solutions for broadband fiber optic and RF devices. You will mentor junior engineers and guide a product development team from concept through release.

The role requires strong CAD skills (2D/3D), GD&T, thermal analysis and experience with fabrication processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver cost-effective mechanical parts and assemblies.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD, Pro/E).
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with thermal modeling and simulation tools.
• Experience with fabrication processes (milling, lathes, etc.).
• Strong leadership and team-leading capability.
• Ability to work in cross-functional product development teams.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of advanced packaging and enclosures.
• Collaborate on cross-functional product development teams.
• Develop electronic packaging solutions for product designs.
• Perform feasibility studies on new technology concepts.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs using 2D/3D CAD.
• Perform thermal analysis using physical and simulation methods.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation per standard practices.
• Advise vendors on component specifications and qualification.
• Act as main technical contact to OEM/turnkey vendors as needed.
• Prepare development and engineering support documentation; participate in ECO processes.
• Collaborate with teams to create cost-efficient mechanical parts.
