Job summary

Copello Global Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team, working on advanced RF, electronics, aerospace and defence products. You will own the full lifecycle from concept through prototyping to production, delivering precise components and assemblies.

You will create 3D CAD models in SolidWorks, apply GD&T and perform thermal/structural analyses to ensure robust, lightweight designs.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong 2D/3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks.
• Experience designing high-precision mechanical components and assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CNC machining, particularly aluminium, would be advantageous.
• Understanding of thermal management, structural design and mechanical analysis.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Design precision mechanical components and assemblies for RF, and electronic products, including enclosures, heatsinks, cooling systems and waveguide structures.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop lightweight, thermally efficient and structurally robust designs for demanding applications.
• Carry out or support FEA, thermal and CFD analysis to validate mechanical and cooling solutions.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection and DFM/DFA principles.
• Produce BOMs, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Support prototyping, environmental testing, first article builds and production introduction.
• Support engineering changes, design reviews and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Copello are currently supporting a leading technology business in the search for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team, working on advanced products across telecommunications, aerospace, defence and space.

This is a hands-on role covering the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to prototyping, testing and production.
