Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design delivery for data centre and mission-critical projects in Leeds. The role requires senior technical leadership, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to drive complex designs from concept to completion.

You will manage design teams across multidisciplinary projects, coordinate with external consultants, and ensure design quality, programme delivery and risk management.

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical building services experience, ideally in data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading design teams on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, regulations and design standards.
• Excellent client-facing communication and professional presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery on significant and technically complex projects.
• Manage client and consultant relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Represent the business at client, design and project meetings and lead internal teams.
• Coordinate mechanical design with other engineering disciplines and external consultants and monitor costs and risks.
