Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Leeds seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead design delivery for data centre and mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe.

You will manage client relationships, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensure design quality and programme adherence, and mentor engineers to develop technical excellence.

This senior role offers exposure to live plant upgrades, close-control environments and challenging technical facilities with ample professional development.

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical/building services engineer with data centre or mission-critical experience.
• Proven track record leading design delivery on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery on significant and technically complex projects.
• Manage design quality, technical performance and project delivery.
• Develop and agree project briefs with clients.
• Manage client and consultant relationships throughout the project.
• Represent the business at client, design and project meetings.
• Lead and prioritise internal project teams and disciplines.
• Coordinate mechanical design with other engineering disciplines and external consultants.
• Review and check technical work completed by team members.
• Support development of engineers within the team.
• Monitor project costs, expenditure and resource requirements.
• Identify and manage technical, commercial and project risks.
• Consider procurement routes and contractual requirements.
• Ensure work is delivered to quality, programme and standards.
• Contribute to business development and client relationships.
• Share knowledge and best practice across the team.
