Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Mechanical Design Manager for its Cheltenham site. The role focuses on leading the Mechanical Design team and delivering projects from concept through manufacture, ensuring designs are safe and manufacturable.

You will plan workloads, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing functions. Salary £55,000-£60,000 with bonus potential, 25 days holiday, and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a Mechanical Design team.
• Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through manufacture.
• Strong understanding of 3D CAD and engineering design practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Experience working across engineering and manufacturing functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Mechanical Design team.
• Plan and coordinate team workloads and resources.
• Ensure designs are practical, accurate, safe, and suitable for manufacture.
• Lead initiatives to improve processes and Continuous improvement.
• Set and review departmental and individual objectives and KPIs.
