Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Manager (Mechanical/Manufacturing) in Cheltenham to lead a growing mechanical design team. This hands-on, office-based role focuses on shaping the design and delivery of bespoke manufacturing systems and ensuring KPI targets are met across projects.

You will liaise with cross‑functional teams, drive performance, and guide a team through design, reviews, and on-site handovers.

Do you have a background managing Mechanical Design teams? This company designs, builds and installs bespoke manufacturing systems for a growing base of clients internationally. They take on projects in a range of sizes from standalone machines to complete turnkey automation solutions.

This is a hands‑on management position where you will be office‑based, designing and overseeing a team of designers. You will liaise between teams, review and manage the performance of the wider team, ensure KPIs are met, and oversee the successful delivery of projects.

This role would suit a Design Manager or similar with a mechanical background looking to join an expanding business looking to join a business offering great company benefits and bonuses.
