Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Mechanical Future Concepts team within the Sparkworks area, contributing to disruptive missile design and rapid prototyping. You will lead mechanical engineering efforts on assigned projects and collaborate across disciplines to shape development directions.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of mechanical design with focus on structural and thermal aspects.
• Ability to develop concept designs with limited information and changing requirements.
• Experience with 3D CAD/CAE; training provided for MBDA CAE tools.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to influence stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Act as Mechanical Lead for assigned projects within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to missile design across research and mainstream projects.
• Develop and prototype mechanical designs for early development stages.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; propose ideas for future research topics.
