Job summary

MBDA UK in Stevenage is seeking experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to lead mechanical design across the full product life cycle for complex weapons systems. You will headline design work, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid on-site role.

The role requires degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong leadership, experience from concept to in-service support, and knowledge of DFMEA, DFA, and DFM, with UK travel and BPSS checks.

Qualifications

• Ideally degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with significant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical design work packages for weapons systems across the full life cycle.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain.
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety, cost and schedule requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
