Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical engineering on missile design projects within the Sparkworks area. You will contribute to disruptive technologies and prototype concepts in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will shape projects from early development and engage across non-trivial design challenges, with opportunities to develop skills and receive structured development. A strong background in CAD/CAE and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Mechanical Design, including structural and thermal considerations.
• Ability to develop concept design solutions with limited information and changing requirements.
• Wider awareness of Electronic Packaging and Low Observability is beneficial.
• Relevant 3D CAD/CAE experience (training on our CAE tools will be provided).
• Strong written and verbal communication to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• As Mechanical Lead for assigned projects, provide Mechanical Engineering expertise across the team.
• You will work on early-stage projects to shape direction and rapidly prototype designs.
• You will propose ideas for future research topics and obtain funding within the Function.
• You will tackle challenging engineering problems with structured skills development.
