NCR Atleos in Dundee, UK is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive currency handling module design and testing. You will lead mechanical development activities, evaluate technologies, and coordinate with tooling suppliers to deliver cost-effective, robust solutions that meet specifications and engineering standards.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, strong CAD skills (Pro/E or SolidWorks), and the ability to juggle multiple projects while communicating clear

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Pro/E or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of mechanical drive systems and mechatronic design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate technical analyses.

Responsabilidades

• Provide design leadership for currency handling module design and testing.
• Evaluate technologies and back it with backup analysis.
• Lead mechanical development activities with estimates and manufacturing options.
• Work with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture on mechanisms.
• Deliver cost-effective designs that meet specifications and standards.
• Engage suppliers throughout project lifecycle and manage changes.
• Lead design validation via reviews, stress analysis, tolerances, testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design leadership in the field of currency handling module design and test.
• Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis.
• Lead mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc..
• Experience in the Design of Mechanisms, working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture.
• Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards.
• Supplier engagement and change management.
• Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction.
• CLCA Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change.

Essential Experience

• Educated to degree level in an Mechanical or equivalent discipline, knowledge/ experience in the following areas preferred: CAD (ProE or Solidworks preferred).
• A good understanding of mechanical drive systems.
• Module/Platforming/Product architectures.
• Must have a clear logical mind for problem solving and the ability communicate clear technical analysis.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
• Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle.
• Development of document and/or currency handling mechatronic systems.
