Job summary

Fluid Transfer International in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for aviation refuelling systems. You will design and develop refuelling vehicles, create 3D models, and produce detailed drawings and schematics.

You will refine designs to improve manufacturability and reliability while coordinating with Sales, Purchasing, and Production teams. You will interpret customer specs, prepare tender documentation, and manage BOMs, supporting prototype builds and

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with mechanical focus.
• Experience in mechanical design within manufacturing/engineering.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD; Inventor and AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop aircraft refuelling vehicles and equipment.
• Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Modify designs to improve performance, manufacturability and reliability.
• Produce proposals and tender documentation from customer specs.
• Generate BOMs and liaise with cross-functional teams.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation.
