Job summary

Adecco are recruiting a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for a Gloucestershire-based role. You will own complex design packages from concept to production, serving as the technical authority across multiple projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

The role involves collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams, delivering high-quality designs and documentation, and driving continuous improvement within the engineering function.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in mechanical design within manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (Creo, AutoCAD) and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality mechanical designs, calculations and technical documentation.
• Own engineering design packages from initial concept through to production release.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards and regulatory obligations.
• Act as the technical authority for assigned projects and engineering activities.
• Support design reviews and engineering decision-making processes.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Operations, Quality and Commercial teams.
