Job summary

TipTopJob are recruiting for an experienced Lead/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer based near Leicester to design, detail and deliver bespoke automation machinery projects from order to handover.

The role requires leading multiple projects, coordinating with customers, suppliers and multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring on-time delivery within budget while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical design of bespoke automation machinery.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects from order to handover.
• Skilled in 3D CAD and designing for assembly within budget.

Responsibilities

• Design and detailing using 3D CAD for multiple projects from order acceptance to handover.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and team members to meet requirements and timelines.
• Lead design reviews to ensure robust and reliable machinery within budget and schedule.
• Produce BOMs and communicate build details to fitters and electricians for efficient assembly.
• Visit customer sites as required to capture measurements and update designs.
