Job summary

Automation Experts seeks an experienced Engineering Project Manager to own automated machine projects from order to handover in Leicestershire. You will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing and procurement, ensuring on-time, to-spec delivery and high quality while maintaining customer communication.

We require an engineering background in machinery or advanced manufacturing, with strong coordination skills and a proactive approach. PRINCE2/APM certification is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineering or machinery projects end-to-end.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical docs.
• Strong coordination across multiple departments and suppliers.
• Commercial awareness balancing customer requirements with delivery.
• Proactive problem solving with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of an entire automated machine product line from customer order through to final handover.
• Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with purchasing to manage components and supplier performance.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates.
• Oversee engineering changes, technical queries and project documentation.
• Coordinate installation planning, commissioning support and customer acceptance activities.
• Lead and coordinate a small build team of 3-4 Engineers.
