Job summary

Staffbase Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Maintenance Engineering Manager for a large-scale heavy industrial processing plant near Selby. You will lead a small maintenance team, manage external contractors, and drive preventative maintenance, CAPEX projects, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in maintenance management, strong electrical and mechanical skills, and experience in heavy industry or recycling sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' maintenance management or supervisory experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills.
• Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing or industrial processing.
• Experience in sectors such as recycling, plastics, metals or foundry.
• Proven experience leading maintenance engineers and external contractors.
• Recognised electrical qualification (HNC/HND/degree).
• 18th Edition electrical qualification would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of PLC systems, CMMS and SAP advantageous.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain an effective PPM system.
• Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Lead and support a small team of maintenance engineers.
• Manage external contractors and engineering service providers.
• Plan, manage and control maintenance activities and engineering projects.
• Support commissioning and CAPEX projects.
• Monitor, source and order spare parts and components.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
• Ensure training, recruitment and performance management requirements are met.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures and HSE requirements.
• Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering support.
• Support the ongoing reliability and availability of plant and machinery.
