Job summary

Raven Search is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of its new Trafford Park operation, including a £350 million healthcare project. You will lead commercial control, negotiate contracts, manage costs, and coordinate with the professional team across GB sites.

Qualifications

• Five years or more post-graduate experience in a quantity surveying role within construction.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, credible with clients and main contractors.
• Clean UK driving licence.
• Occasional travel to GB sites; based in Trafford Park.

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial ownership of the initial £350 million healthcare project, and of the schemes that follow it.
• Attending pre-contract meetings, liaising across the professional team and ensuring actions are closed out.
• Reviewing and negotiating contracts with main contractors and clients.
• Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Administering construction contracts in line with agreed terms, including running the payment process.
• Measuring and valuing completed work accurately against contract specifications and drawings.
• Preparing regular cost reports and financial statements, tracking progress and flagging budget deviation.
• Identifying and assessing financial risk on projects, and developing strategies to mitigate it.
• Keeping clients informed on cost, progress and potential change.
• Working alongside project managers, engineers and support functions to keep delivery and commercial aligned.
