Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear to drive technical specification, development and delivery of 400V AC and 220V DC switchgear across the full lifecycle. You will manage component packages, provide technical oversight to suppliers and engage with multiple engineering partners to meet project requirements and lifecycle expectations.

Hybrid role with sites in the UK; responsibilities include design reviews, interface coordination, FAT support and rigorous safety

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical power engineering design, procurement, integration or qualification.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear, MCCs, busbar systems, distribution boards and protection equipment.
• Understanding of the equipment lifecycle from concept through commissioning.
• Familiarity with IEC BS standards relevant to LV electrical installations.

Responsibilities

• Develop component requirements from system-level requirements.
• Create and maintain technical specs for 400V AC and 220V DC switchgear.
• Support group component and product specifications development.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate interfaces across electrical systems and stakeholders.
• Lead technical deliverables for design and gate reviews.
• Support procurement, supplier engagement and FAT activities.
