Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Lead Engineer - Extra High Voltage (EHV) Systems to drive the technical specification, development, integration and delivery of EHV transmission and switchyard equipment for the SMR grid connection. You will translate system requirements into robust component specs and manage EHV packages end-to-end from supplier engagement through to commissioning.

You will lead technical interfaces with transformers, protection systems and civil infrastructure, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop component requirements for EHV switchgear and transmission infrastructure.
• Produce and manage EHV technical specifications and procurement documentation.
• Define equipment ratings, insulation coordination and fault-level requirements.
• Support selection and evaluation of AIS and GIS switchgear solutions.
• Review supplier calculations, designs and technical submissions.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with transformers and protection systems.
• Undertake factory visits and manufacturing oversight activities.
