Job summary

Siemens Electrification & Automation in Manchester is seeking a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer to deliver MV switchgear projects (AIS/GIS) for UK&I. You will own design activities, interpret specifications, and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders through the full project lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on technical design with stakeholder management, requires MV switchgear experience, and offers flexible working hours, a competitive pension, and a performance

Qualifications

HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, with relevant design experience.
Experience in Medium Voltage switchgear (AIS/GIS) and related design processes.
Ability to interpret diagrams and translate into compliant designs.
Good communication and stakeholder management across project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Take technical ownership of MV switchgear projects from tender to delivery.
Review customer specs and translate into detailed designs.
Produce switchgear designs including GAs, SLDs and LV compartments.
Design and integrate Protection & Control solutions and relays.
Support FACT testing and supplier coordination.
