Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Lead Land Officer (Transmission) based in Cambuslang. You will lead land rights acquisition and management for major transmission projects, coordinating across project teams and external stakeholders to secure timely, compliant outcomes.

The role requires substantial land/property experience, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate complex land processes to support programme delivery and audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a Land Officer or comparable land/property role within utilities, infrastructure or property sectors.
• Proven experience acquiring and managing land rights, including negotiation of wayleaves, servitudes, easements and access agreements.
• Demonstrable leadership qualities including coordinating others and mentoring teammates.
• Strong understanding of land ownership, title interpretation, legal agreements and property-related processes.
• Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating land activities across multiple projects or programmes.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement with landowners, agents and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of statutory land rights processes including Necessary Wayleaves and Compulsory Purchase Orders.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, risks and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the acquisition and management of land rights across major transmission projects and provide expert oversight on complex land matters.
• Identify and mitigate land-related risks, interpret legal agreements, and advise project teams throughout development and delivery.
• Coordinate engagement with landowners, land agents and external stakeholders to drive project outcomes.
• Ensure land activities align with programme milestones, budgets and strategic objectives.
• Provide governance, reporting and audit-ready records across core systems.
• Mentor Land Officers and Land Coordinators to promote consistency and continuous improvement across the function.
