Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Corporate Global Tax Technology team. You will join an agile unit delivering trusted, scalable technologies in a secure environment, driving innovation with AI-assisted practices and modern cloud architectures.

You will lead design, development, and optimization of cloud-based services, collaborate with architects, and guide teams toward high-quality production code while embracing new AI/ML techniques and secure coding standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience.
• Cloud development experience (AWS) and application design.
• Experience with AI/ML model integration and Generative AI APIs.
• Advanced in Java and Python.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and event-driven or serverless architectures.
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted software development tools and secure coding practices.
• Proficiency in automation and CI/CD within a secure SDLC.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and modern cloud stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based applications and services.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design solutions are aligned with business goals.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay up to date with emerging Cloud and AI/ML technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.
