Job summary

HelloKindred in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join the Modernisation Programme within Tax Administration. You will lead technical design and development for services, applying Java, Spring and Kubernetes with platform integration, while mentoring engineers and aligning with architectural standards.

React front-end experience is preferred, and BPSS clearance eligibility is required. The role is hybrid, with in-office collaboration two days per week and close cooperation

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing solutions with Java and Spring.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and platform integration experience.
• Experience leading technical design, development and delivery in complex environments.
• React front-end experience preferred; BPSS clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and development activities for services within the Modernisation Programme.
• Create low-level designs that translate architecture into actionable work.
• Translate designs into backlogs and drive Build phase execution.
• Develop and deliver services using Java, Spring, Kubernetes and integration technologies.
• Mentor engineers and guide the team through challenges while upholding standards.
