Job summary

HelloKindred is seeking a Java Engineer to support and enhance Internal Applications within the Tax Administration environment. The role balances live service support with change initiatives in a hybrid setup, including regular travel to the Telford office.

The ideal candidate will have enterprise Java development expertise, WebLogic, Oracle SQL, Git, Maven and Kubernetes experience, plus collaboration and problem‑solving skills in a complex landscape.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Java development experience in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with WebLogic application servers.
• Strong Oracle SQL skills and complex query support.
• Experience with Git in controlled release environments.
• Experience with Maven for build and dependency management.
• Experience with containerized platforms including Kubernetes.
• Ability to support live services while delivering improvements.
• Collaborative, ownership‑driven problem solving in complex environments.
• Balance operation support with change delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support enterprise Java applications within the Tax Administration environment.
• Maintain live services and ensure stability, availability and performance of internal apps.
• Support batch processing activities and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Deliver controlled changes following release and governance processes.
• Develop, optimize and support complex Oracle SQL queries.
• Manage source code using Git in release processes.
• Build and manage dependencies with Maven.
• Deploy and support apps on WebLogic servers.
• Work with Kubernetes for enterprise deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous service improvements.
• Balance BAU with change initiatives across complex landscapes.
• Travel to the Telford office regularly to support team collaboration.
