Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Interventional Radiology Nurse to provide clinical leadership, expert nursing care and coordinated support within the Radiology department.

You will scrub for interventional procedures, monitor and recover patients, administer IV conscious sedation, and contribute to pre-assessment and ward care for acutely unwell patients. There is an on-call element and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Active Nursing Registration with NMC (UK)
• Experience in interventional radiology or acute care preferred
• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills

Responsibilities

• Scrub for interventional procedures and monitor/recover patients
• Administer intravenous conscious sedation and manage sedation recovery
• Pre-assess IR day case patients and perform ward assessments
• Provide care for acutely unwell patients in Radiology
• Act as nurse in charge on shifts and be first on call for emergencies
• Support line manager with clinical responsibilities and act up in their absence
• Provide nurse assessor and nurse preceptor duties for students and staff
• Participate in on-call rota including nights/weekends
