Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse for Interventional Radiology at NHS AfC Band 6. Part-time 19 hours weekly with on-call duties.

You will scrub IR procedures, monitor patients, and lead a nursing team within a dynamic radiology department. The role includes senior clinical leadership, IV sedation administration, and a pathway to professional development.

Qualifications

• NMC registered with CPD ongoing, first degree and post graduate qualification relevant to nursing.
• Experience in interventional radiology nursing and ability to lead clinical teams.
• Competence in cannulation, sedation and scrub skills for IR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and management support within the IR nursing team.
• Scrub for interventional procedures and monitor/recover patients post-procedure.
• Administer IV conscious sedation and manage pre-assessment and day-case patients.
• Act as nurse in charge on shifts and participate in on-call rota.
• Educate and supervise junior staff and ensure accurate documentation.
