Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking an ICA Engineer (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) for water treatment projects near Royal Tunbridge Wells. The role is a long-term contract (18 months) with a daily rate of £450–£550 and immediate start.

You will lead installation, programming, testing, loop checking, and full site integration of telemetry, control panels, and instrument systems across active assets.

Qualifications

• Water sector experience on UK water or wastewater projects (AMP frameworks).
• Strong knowledge of telemetry, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
• Valid CSCS/ECS Card, EUSR National Water Hygiene Card, and BS7671 (18th Edition).
• Desirable: SSSTS/SMSTS or vendor software accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead site testing, loop checking, calibration, and integration of field instrumentation, control panels, and telemetry outstations.
• Test and troubleshoot PLC software, SCADA interfaces, and HMIs on live assets.
• Coordinate with MEICA engineers, client ops teams, and software vendors to resolve interfaces.
• Produce FAT, SAT and I/O schedules in compliance with water authority and WIMES standards.
• Maintain safe systems of work around LV control systems and live plant environments.
