AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead end-to-end HV substation design in the UK/Ireland, shaping grid-scale power infrastructure from concept through energisation on high-profile projects.

Based in London or Ireland with hybrid work, you will direct technical delivery, oversee interfaces, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, quality, and alignment with National Grid standards.

Qualificações

• Experience delivering HV infrastructure design at concept, FEED and detailed design stages.
• Strong understanding of electrical AC HV plant and equipment (AIS/GIS) including switchgear and cabling.
• Proposal and bid development experience for multi-discipline submissions.
• Familiarity with National Grid standards and specifications.
• Experience with design management and site construction review.

Responsabilidades

• Lead HV substation technical discussions with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Direct the technical delivery of substation design major projects.
• Apply lifecycle expertise from grid connection studies to detailed design.
• Liaise with project management to develop resourcing forecasts and programmes.
• Demonstrate commercial awareness through proposal development and cost monitoring.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Champion safety in design principles across HV substation deliverables.
• Build relationships with clients and understand grid connection strategies.
