Job summary

AECOM seeks an Associate Director to lead end-to-end HV substation design in the UK, with hybrid working from London. Based in the UK or Ireland, you will shape grid-scale power infrastructure from concept through energisation on landmark projects.

You will direct the technical delivery of substation design, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and apply lifecycle expertise from grid connection studies to FEED and detailed design, delivering high-availability schemes for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering HV infrastructure design at concept, FEED and detailed design stages.
• Strong understanding of AIS and GIS HV plant equipment and switchgear.
• Knowledge of National Grid standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation design from concept through energisation with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Lead HV infrastructure discussions with clients and establish interfaces.
• Direct technical delivery of substation design major projects and monitor progress.
• Apply lifecycle design expertise from grid studies to detailed design.
• Mentor junior engineers and build team capability in HV design.
