Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Site Based Construction Manager with Cabling / Substation expertise in the Aberdeen area. You will lead site teams, drive safety, and ensure delivery within time and budget while liaising with authorities and utility providers.

The role requires a strong track record in project delivery, knowledge of HV cabling, and a practical understanding of 132kV systems. A UK driving licence is essential and a degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering is desirable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of delivering projects.
• Understanding of electrical/ mechanical aspects at 132kV+.
• Experience in a similar construction management role.
• Good grasp of standard forms of contract.
• Strong verbal and written communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage Site Engineers and Project Engineers to ensure safety and technical policy compliance.
• Plan work and oversee materials, plant and equipment requirements.
• Oversee project resources and staffing for the site.
• Manage construction site daily operations, supervising labour, subcontractors and quality control.
• Liaise with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other Utilities providers to meet standards.
