Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Project Manager (HV/EHV) to join our UK Transmission and Distribution team. You will manage pre-construction and construction activities for large-scale HV infrastructure, from design to energisation.

The role focuses on 33kV to 400kV projects and requires an HNC in Electrical Engineering, with experience in AIS/GIS, Protection & Control, and transformers. Hybrid working across the UK is offered, with development opportunities and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large HV/EHV substation projects from feasibility to energisation.
• Strong knowledge of AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, and transformers.
• Familiarity with 33kV–400kV voltage levels and grid connections.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial functional requirements into cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Deliver HV/EHV projects to time, cost, safety and quality.
• Interface with customers and resources to develop and deliver projects.
• Assume CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer roles for HV/EHV schemes.
• Coordinate external service providers and manage commercial aspects.
• Communicate effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders.
