Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an electrical engineer with expertise in HV and EHV substation design. The role involves producing design documentation, preparing specifications, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate will hold an HNC in Electrical Engineering, have extensive experience in substation projects, and possess strong skills in project management and risk assessment. The role also emphasizes health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: HNC Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure to substation cable design, protection and control.
• Experience of small and complex new substation projects.
• Proven experience in HV and EHV substation design from 11kV to 132kV.
• Knowledge of engineering standards for HV plants.

Responsibilities

• Produce design drawings for Grid and Primary substations.
• Prepare technical specifications for electrical plant.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Attend site meetings during project build.
• Manage health and safety risks with the project team.
