Job summary

Destination Education is partnering with welcoming primary schools across Walthamstow and surrounding areas to recruit Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA).

You will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, lead lessons when required, and work with class teachers to raise achievement while maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Has HLTA status or relevant experience working at a higher level within a primary school.
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Confident leading lessons and managing a classroom independently.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Reliable, adaptable, and confident across different year groups.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Lead classes and deliver lessons when required.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Work closely with class teachers and the wider school team.
• Help maintain high standards of behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Assist with planning, preparation, assessment, and classroom organisation where required.
