Sherwell Valley Primary School in Torbay is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead a classroom, cover PPA time, and support short-term absences while delivering targeted small-group learning.

You will work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, running interventions in literacy and numeracy, collaborating with teachers to adapt resources and ensure inclusive access for all pupils, including those with SEND. CPD is available to support career progression.

Qualifikationen

• Proven track record of positive, effective classroom management in line with school behaviour policies.
• Strong subject knowledge across the Primary National Curriculum.
• Excellent safeguarding and child protection practices (Keeping Children Safe in Education).

Aufgaben

• Lead classes to cover Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time and short-term teacher absences.
• Deliver structured literacy and numeracy interventions to narrow attainment gaps.
• Collaborate with Class Teachers to adapt resources and scaffold learning for all abilities, including SEND.
• Act as a role model and mentor within the TA team, sharing best practice.
• Support the social, emotional and physical development of pupils to ensure they feel safe and ready to learn.
• Access robust CPD tailored to career progression.
