Job summary

Oasis Academy Don Valley in Sheffield is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead learning, support pupils and work with teachers across the primary phase. The role offers responsibility for engaging lessons, high-quality PPA cover and targeted interventions to boost pupil progress.

The ideal candidate will have experience in learning support, strong communication, and a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding within a dynamic school community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
• HLTA qualification desirable; support will be available for the right candidate.
• Experience supporting or leading learning for classes, groups and individual pupils.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Responsibilities

• Leading learning during teacher release time and planned absence.
• Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
• Creating engaging learning activities and resources.
• Supporting assessment and monitoring attainment.
• Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations.
• Providing pastoral support that helps pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
• Collaborating with colleagues and families to secure the best outcomes for every child.
