Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Principal Highways and Drainage Engineer to lead development infrastructure projects in the UK from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. The role demands expertise in highways and drainage, project leadership, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate designs to UK standards, and support Sections 38/278 and 104 processes while enabling progression to chartered status.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering highway and drainage designs for development projects.
• Knowledge of UK standards and drainage design from first principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of highway and drainage infrastructure for developments.
• Develop designs to support Section 38/278 and Section 104 approvals.
• Produce drainage strategies and Flood Risk Assessments.
• Coordinate surface water and foul drainage networks from feasibility to detailed design.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical outputs.
• Present technical information to clients and stakeholders.
