Job summary

Grundon is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Workshop Supervisor for the Beenham site. You will supervise HGV technicians and apprentices, ensure safe and efficient workshop operations, and support maintenance across the fleet using the R2C system.

The role requires a current LGV Class 2 licence (tachograph) with hands-on skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and mechanical systems. A strong safety mindset and collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in a workshop environment.
• Current LGV Class 2 licence with tachograph card.
• City & Guilds HGV Parts 1-3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of workshop technicians and apprentices; allocate work and coordinate with depots.
• Promote safe, efficient, high-standard working practices and cost-effective use of time.
• Carry out hands-on servicing, repairs and workshop support as required.
• Manage service sheets, job card sign-off, defects, and VOR reporting with operations.
• Ensure accurate use of the fleet maintenance system (R2C) and LO­LER compliance.
• Assist with parts management, including ordering and stock control.
• Act as a key link between technicians and management for continuous improvement.
