Job summary

Our Reading-based client seeks an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to lead technicians and apprentices, balancing hands-on servicing with supervision. You will ensure safety, efficiency, and high standards in a busy workshop environment.

Requirements include LGV Class 2 licence and tachograph, City & Guilds HGV Parts 1-3, and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. The role offers training and career development within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HGV workshop, supervisory or senior technician role.
• Mentoring junior technicians or apprentices.
• LGV Class 2 licence and digital tachograph card.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Strong health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate workshop technicians and apprentices.
• Guide the team to work safely and efficiently.
• Carry out hands-on servicing and repairs.
• Manage service sheets, job cards and open defects.
• Support vehicle availability with operations team.
• Assist with parts ordering and stock control.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes.
