Kemp Recruitment Ltd in Rushden is seeking a Lead HGV Technician to perform inspection, service, maintenance and repair of vehicles and trailers. The role includes MOT preparation, fault diagnosis and mobile support, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds Irtec accreditation and a City & Guilds or NVQ level 3, plus a valid driving licence, and thrives under pressure while delivering high quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Irtec accredited.
• Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles.
• Valid Driving Licence.
• Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Actively seek solutions to problems.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned inspection, service, maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles and trailers in line with current regulatory guidance.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Possess a working knowledge of fault diagnostic equipment.
• MOT preparation.
• Provide mobile assistance as required
• Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises.
• Liaise with parts suppliers to attain parts.
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
• Conform to all customer site requirements & regulations.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
• Maintain thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses.

Job description

Job Role: Lead HGV Technician

Location: Rushden

Salary: £24.50 per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Fully expensed company van & fuel card, which can additionally be used for personal use

What you’ll do in the position:
