Job summary

Interaction Technical is seeking an HGV Technician in Kettering, Northamptonshire. You will diagnose faults, service and repair light and heavy vehicles, supporting customers on-site and at customer sites with strong documentation practices.

The role offers overtime at 1.5x and 2x on Sundays/bank holidays, full training, and clear progression within the company. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive industry.
• Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience.
• Hydraulics, mechanical and electrical capabilities.
• NVQ or City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and carry out repairs/breakdowns on light and heavy vehicles.
• Collaborate with customers around plant, lifting and handling products.
• Work independently on customer sites and document solutions.
• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on company fleet of cars and trucks.
• Work on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics with fault finding.

Salary: £33,000-£44,000, Overtime @1.5x and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hrs a week, Flexible with start and finish times.

The client:

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established, growing plant hire and material handling firm who are actively seeking a HGV technician to join their team of engineers and look after their fleet of light and heavy vehicles.

The Duties:

• Accurately diagnosing faults, servicing and carrying out emergency repairs/breakdowns on light and heavy vehicles.
• Collaborate with customers surrounding the plant, lifting and handling products.
• The ability to work independently within the customer sites and collaborate with colleagues to ensure documentation and the perfect solution is offered.
• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on the companies fleet of cars and trucks.
• Working on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.

The Requirements:

• Previous experience working in the automotive industry
• Previous experience working with hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
• Experience working with engines and batteries (essential)
• Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience
• Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
• Full UK Drivers License
