Job summary

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) invites applications for a senior Flight Operations role at Gatwick in a hybrid arrangement. You will lead a team to optimise productivity, quality, and oversight plan delivery, ensuring safety and compliance across regulatory requirements.

Role requires strong regulatory knowledge, leadership, and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. UK residency and security vetting apply; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of regulatory rules framework.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in regulatory environment including compliance monitoring and safety management systems.
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with IT packages such as Q-Pulse and BYD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Flight Operations management team to deliver objectives and set standards.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to FO colleagues.
• Manage oversight plan development and governance for the sector.
• Support prioritisation of non-compliances and ensure timely action by operators.
• Deliver inspector training courses and develop courseware.
• Develop training to address regulatory changes and oversight methodologies.
• Contribute to Risk Picture and SRP when applicable.
• Process operator exemptions and permissions from legislative requirements.
• Ensure QC of Operator Approval documents.
