Job summary

EDAG Engineering Limited in the UK is seeking a Lead Engineer – Exterior Lighting & Mirrors to drive cross-functional program delivery for lighting and mirror systems, with responsibility for cost, timing, supplier management and design for manufacture across a vehicle programme.

You will own domain deliverables, guide DFMEA, validation through to sign-off, coordinate with design, vehicle engineering, styling and manufacturing, and ensure compliance with GD&T, regulations and OEM standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in automotive engineering with exterior lighting and/or mirror systems.
• Strong knowledge of lighting tech (LED, Matrix LED, adaptive lighting) and camera-monitor systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and supplier reviews.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, PPAP and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Own domain delivery for exterior lighting and mirrors across vehicle programmes.
• Provide DFx/DFM guidance and manufacturing feasibility support.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and engineering standards.
• Manage system BOMs and ECN/ECR processes.
• Plan and execute validation activities from concept to 100% sign-off.
• Lead domain planning, supplier management and budget control.
