Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage is looking for a capable professional to lead the delivery of the Engineering Design Record (EDR) within the Portfolio Systems team. You will coordinate with MOD and MBDA stakeholders, shaping requirements and ensuring timely delivery across projects.

You will manage a small team, travel within the UK to MBDA sites as needed, and contribute to leadership discussions on system design and trade-offs while expanding your knowledge of MBDA’s products and portfolio practices.

Qualifications

• Understanding of weapon systems and design processes across product life cycle.
• Ability to engage multiple stakeholders and build effective relationships.
• Experience leading small teams and developing junior colleagues.
• Ability to work with senior MOD and MBDA management and challenge where needed.
• Flexible mindset to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.
• Ability to balance big-picture view with key tactical issues.
• Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering approaches and requirement management (DOORS).
• Capable of system design/requirement trade and acceptance with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Engineering Design Record (EDR) and related activities.
• Influence direction across UK Portfolio and coordinate with MOD/MBDA stakeholders.
• Develop and manage work packages within the Systems Team and mentor juniors.
• Present work at Portfolio Engineering Working group and travel to MBDA sites in the UK.
