Job summary

The Vineyard is seeking a Lead Engineer to take overall responsibility for the maintenance, compliance, safety and operation of the hotel's facilities, plant, equipment and infrastructure. You will lead the Maintenance Department, ensuring the property is maintained to luxury five‑star standards and support guest experiences.

This hands-on role requires a proactive, technically skilled professional with experience in electrical, mechanical or related building services disciplines and energy

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a senior maintenance, engineering or facilities management role.
• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade discipline, or significant equivalent industry experience.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of building services, plant equipment, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Experience using CAFM or maintenance management software systems.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and Health & Safety legislation.
• Knowledge of swimming pool plant operations and water quality management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance Department and oversee planned and reactive maintenance to luxury hotel standards.
• Manage health, safety, compliance, and energy efficiency initiatives across the property.
• Oversee water safety, pool plant operations and Legionella control.
• Manage CAFM system usage and maintenance records.
• Contractor management and project oversight for refurbishments and improvements.
• Drive sustainability and energy management initiatives.
• Collaborate with departments to support guest satisfaction and operations.
