Job summary

Haven is seeking a Lead Engineer to join the Technology team, sharing ownership of the squad’s direction with a Product Manager and UX Designer. You will set architecture, drive AI-enabled practices, and stay hands-on around 60–80% of the time, mentoring engineers and delivering high-quality software.

The role is remote-first with occasional visits to Hemel Hempstead or on Park, permanent and full-time, with a competitive salary plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a software engineer in a similar environment.
• Proven experience in a Lead Engineer role, fostering a productive team.
• Excellent working knowledge of AI-enabled software engineering and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architecture for your squad.
• Define and evolve the squad backlog with PM and UX Designer.
• Lead by example in design and implementation of high-quality solutions.
• Own the squad's engineering practice and AI-enabled ways of working.
• Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to audiences.
