Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd in Spalding is recruiting a Lead Engineer for a fast-moving FMCG site. You will be responsible for day-to-day engineering and maintenance, driving machine efficiency and safety across high-speed lines.

The role combines reactive and proactive maintenance, including monthly PPM work and project-based tasks on flow wrappers, labeling, packaging, and conveyors. Apprentice-trained in electrical or mechanical engineering, you will work with PLC systems and automated machinery.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with PLCs and automated machinery.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance (PPM) systems.
• Exposure to FMCG environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering and maintenance to high standards.
• Maximise machine efficiency and reliability across high-speed lines.
• Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance, including monthly PPMs.
• Participate in project-based work on packaging and conveying systems.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and maximizing machine efficiencies. This will be a reactive and a proactive maintenance role, working to and carrying out the monthly PPM work. You will have served a minimum of a full apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, also mechanical work including working within planned and preventative maintenance schedules, project based work within a high speed automated environment. There will be lots of fast moving machinery such as flow wrappers and labelling machines, together with packaging and conveyor systems. There is a huge amount of training on offer so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.
