Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd is representing a leading UK manufacturer based in Preston, seeking a Shift Engineer to join a busy maintenance team on a 4 on 4 off pattern.

You will service corrugators, material handling conveyors, box converting lines with print, cutting, stacking and folding units, and perform PLC fault finding while supporting planned preventative maintenance and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum full apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience working with conveyors, inverters, drives, sensors, plastics or insulation machines, packaging machines, motors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain corrugators and packaging lines.
• Service material handling conveyors (palletisers, strappers, wrappers).
• Maintain box converting lines with print units, cutting units, stacking and folding.
• Perform PLC fault finding and repairs.

Salary: £53,000 + Pension + Overtime

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 2 days 2 nights 6-6

My client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers within its field of food based packaging products and associated processes. The group is a well established producer to the European markets and have been established over 30 years. The site in Preston is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this secure organisation.

The Role

• Corrugators
• Material handling conveyor systems (palletisers, strappers, and wrappers)
• Box converting lines which have print units, cutting units, stacking, and folding
• PLC Faulting finding

You will have served a minimum of ideally a full apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering and have experience working within planned and preventative maintenance schedules, working on conveyors, inverters, drives, sensors, plastics or insulation machines, packaging machines, motors, print units, cutting units, stacking, and folding machines.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for all production equipment including compliance with Health & Safety policies are met and any maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards. There is a huge scope and variety on offer, so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.
