Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Lead Engineer at The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale. The role is a full-time, 37.5-hour per week position with a salary of up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience, training and qualification.

The hospital forms part of Britain's leading private healthcare provider with a nationwide network. The Lead Engineer will provide maintenance and breakdown support, manage budgets, drive energy reductions, and support safety & enviro management.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• CSCS card or ECS card (if electrically qualified) at the appropriate level.
• Proven experience in engineering maintenance, ideally within a hospital or similar critical services environment.
• Experience in team leadership, task allocation, and performance management.
• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, including risk management, fire safety, and Legionella prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital.
• Manage and report on R & M budgets.
• Oversee environment and energy reduction initiatives.
• Offer technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support to EDs and Hospital Managers.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to implement management tools for facilities.

Lead Engineer The Highfield Hospital

37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Highfield Hospital has recently been awarded OUTSTANDING by the CQC. The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our team of staff in the Maintenance Department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• The provision of Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital.


• Management and reporting of R & M budgets, reviewing and commenting as appropriate.


• Management of Environment and energy reduction


• Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance to ED’s and local Hospital Managers, Project Managers and / or Minor works Managers.


• Work with the senior leadership team to develop and implement the management tools necessary to operate their facilities to the required standard.


• Liaise with the Regional Engineering Manager and Hospital Operations Manager to support and advise on appropriate engineering issues.


• Cover your cluster sites to meet on-call requirements.


• Attend regional/cluster meetings and training courses when required.


• Provide support to sites within your cluster when required for Holiday, sickness, Vacancy’s, and or general support provision.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


• CSCS card or ECS card (if electrically qualified) at the appropriate level.


• Proven experience in engineering maintenance, ideally within a hospital or similar critical services environment.


• Experience in team leadership, task allocation, and performance management.


• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, including risk management, fire safety, and Legionella prevention.


• Strong fault-finding, organisational, and communication skills.
