S Knights Recruitment is seeking a Lead Employability Tutor in West Yorkshire to drive high-quality employability training and take ownership of programme delivery and learner progress. You will work with learners, employers and referral partners to ensure active engagement and positive outcomes.

The role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities as the organisation expands across West Yorkshire, with a focus on progression into employment, apprenticeships or further training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging employability, confidence-building and workplace-readiness sessions.
  • Manage learner engagement, attendance, retention and progression.
  • Support learner induction, initial assessment, ILPs and RARPA.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day programme delivery and coordination.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide interventions when needed.
  • Collaborate with employers to create progression opportunities.
  • Prepare learners for work experience, employer engagement and interviews.
  • Support learners into employment, apprenticeships or further training.
  • Maintain learner records and programme documentation.
  • Work with tutors and partners to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver Construction and/or Green Skills training where you have relevant experience.

Lead Employability Tutor

Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Batley, Halifax)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Lead Employability Tutor with a strong background in government-funded employability programmes?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Employability and Skills provision across West Yorkshire. You will combine high-quality learner delivery with responsibility for programme coordination, helping learners build the confidence, skills and experience they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further training.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of programme delivery, learner progress and day-to-day operations, while remaining hands-on with learners.

About the Organisation

The organisation delivers adult learning, employability and skills programmes designed to create clear pathways into sustainable employment and further development.

Its approach combines employability training, employer engagement, practical experience and progression support, helping learners move from initial engagement through to employment or further learning.

With approximately 10 learners starting each month and further programme growth anticipated, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing learner outcomes across West Yorkshire.

The Role

As a Lead Employability Tutor, you will deliver high-quality employability training while taking ownership of the effective running of programmes.

You will work closely with learners, employers, referral partners and other delivery professionals to ensure learners remain engaged, make progress and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging employability, confidence‑building and workplace‑readiness sessions.
  • Managing learner engagement, attendance, retention and progression.
  • Supporting learner induction, initial assessment, ILPs and RARPA.
  • Taking ownership of day-to-day programme delivery and coordination.
  • Monitoring learner progress and providing appropriate interventions where required.
  • Working with employers and partners to create progression opportunities.
  • Preparing learners for work experience, employer engagement and interviews.
  • Supporting learners into employment, apprenticeships or further training.
  • Maintaining accurate learner records, evidence and programme documentation.
  • Working collaboratively with tutors, technical specialists and programme stakeholders.
  • Delivering Construction and/or Green Skills training where you have relevant experience.
  • Supporting programme quality, reporting and continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a confident, organised and learner‑focused professional who can combine excellent classroom delivery with programme ownership.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience delivering government‑funded Employability programmes.
  • Proven experience as an Employability Tutor, Employability Practitioner or similar.
  • Confidence delivering engaging classroom‑based learning.
  • Strong learner engagement, retention and progression skills.
  • The ability to manage programme activity and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management skills.
  • Experience supporting learners towards employment, apprenticeships or further training.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and learner support requirements.

Highly desirable: Experience delivering Construction, Retrofit or Green Skills programmes and/or previous programme management or coordination experience.
